Why do you not offer flat rates for specific services, like other companies do?

Other companies publish flat rates for certain services, but may charge you more if they find other problems that they must repair before they can do the work. For instance, if you buy a wireless card for your PC, a company can offer you a flat rate of $30 to install it. But if your system has viruses and spyware, cleaning it might run another $50-100. There might also be a charge for some of the software needed. Most computers will need a full system tune-up on the first call! A flat rate can save you money. A customer who has a problem that takes an hour to solve will pay less than a customer who has a severely infected system, while a store with a flat rate will charge you full price, even if it only took them a few minutes to fix the problem. We can help you learn how to keep your system clean so that later calls will be faster. The average time to clean out a system on the first call is usually about one and a half to two hours for a heavily infected machine. Don't forget, all of our work is done on-site at your house or business, so you can see what is being done, and understand what may need to be fixed before we start working on it. Also, most companies that have flat rates require you to bring the computer into their store and leave it there for days or weeks. Our rates are usually lower than that of most big-box "Nerd Patrol" in-home services, since you're not paying for the marketing and hype, and you don't have to take your computer apart and put it back together once they're done with it.
